Hi, I’m Andrey — the host, builder, and caretaker of this treehouse tucked into the hills of Braintree, Vermont. Owl’s Rooted Castle started as a sketch on paper and a dream to create a place where people could slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with the forest.
I live on the property and personally maintain the trails, the treehouse, and the little details that make each stay feel warm, safe, and welcoming. When you send a message or ask a question, it’s me on the other side.
The idea for Owl’s Rooted Castle appeared long before the first board was cut. I walked this land in every season, watching how the light moved through the trees, where the snow gathered, and how the wind sounded on the ridge. The treehouse grew from those walks.
Every beam, stair, and window was chosen with intention: to feel solid and safe, but also playful and a little magical. I built much of the structure by hand, with help from friends and local craftspeople here in Vermont.
The zipline, the fire pit, the wood stove, and the cozy sleeping loft were all added step by step, as real guests started staying here and sharing what made them feel most at home.
You can still spot some of the original pencil marks and hand-crafted details if you look closely.
Here’s a glimpse into the process — from bare trees and raw lumber to a place where people celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, and quiet weekends away from the noise.
My goal is simple: for you to arrive, exhale, and feel like you’ve stepped out of regular time for a while. I keep the treehouse stocked, the paths clear, and the stove ready so you can focus on slow mornings, long conversations, and the sound of the forest.
If you need tips on local hikes, winter driving in Vermont, or the best way to enjoy a snowstorm from the loft, I’m always happy to share what I’ve learned living here.
Thank you for treating this place with care — it’s both a home and a dream that I’m grateful to share with guests from all over the world.
